HOW TO alter default browser display fonts in Internet Explorer 6.0

• To alter the default display font:

  Don't worry that the following instructions look long and complicated - that is just because I've tried to give enough detail for complete beginners.  The process itself is quick and simple.

  1. To pick the 'Text size':-
     
     
     1. Drop down the 'View' menu, by clicking on the top toolbar in the Internet Explorer window.
        
        
     2. Go down to 'Text Size' - you'll be offered 5 options, from 'Largest to 'Smallest'.  pick the one you want.
        
        
  2. To choose a typeface:-
     
     
     1. Drop down the 'Tools' menu, by clicking on the top toolbar in the Internet Explorer window, and select 'Internet Options...
        
        
     2. The options window will open with the 'General' tab on top.
        
        
     3. Press the [Fonts...] button on the next to bottom line.
        
        
     4. There are 3 setting boxes here:-
        
        Ignore the top one, which is about setting up foreign alphabets.
        
        The left box allows you to scroll through all the fonts installed on your PC.  Select one you like.
        
        The box on the right allows you to pick a fixed-width font as well.  There are codes that Web designers can use to set sections of a page this way.  To illustrate that I've used it for this paragraph.
        
        
     5. When you have chosen the typefaces you want to use, press the [OK] button in this window, then the [OK] button in the 'Options' window.  Yoiur font preferences have now been set.
